RESEARCH INTERESTS

Interdisciplinary materials science & technology, addressing diverse scientific and societal challenges with polymers, nanomaterials and advanced technologies.

ABOUT ME

My aim is to develop and provide tools and enabling technologies that allow us to build bridges between different disciplines, applying a multidisciplinary view of science in order to combine approches and strategies that can give us building blocks for a better future.

Currently, I am responsible for the Polymer Physics Group (FISPOL), which maintains 3 fundamental pillars: Polymer nanocomposites, sustainable porous materials and advanced characterization. We develop diverse application-driven materials in areas such as smart textiles, pollution remediation, energy storage and plastics recycling.

I coordinated the MIRAS Project for the construction of a multipurpose Infrared Microspectroscopy Beamline at ALBA Synchrotron, which was inaugurated in 2016.

I am also Associate Scientist in the Interdisciplinary Studies on Nanoscopic Systems Group (ESISNA) of the ICMM where we are developing spectroscopic approaches under UHV conditions for on-surface chemistry and laboratory astrophysics, and nanoparticle-based bottom-up strategies for new biosensors.

I participate in the following CSIC Interdisciplinary Technology Platform (PTI+)
